Kensington Roof Gardens Restoration
Located atop the former Derry & Toms building on Kensington High Street, in the heart of West London, The Roof Gardens is a remarkable private members’ club. After remaining closed for over five years, the rooftop reopened in 2024 following an extensive renovation, which we are incredibly proud to be a part of.
The Kensington Roof Gardens are thoughtfully arranged into three distinct spaces, each with its own theme: Spanish, Tudor, and English garden. We supplied Zahra Beige Paving across both Spanish and English gardens. With its warm beige tones and softly textured finish, this Egyptian limestone integrates effortlessly into the landscape, complementing the planting schemes and architectural detailing as though it had always belonged there.
The above image captures the Spanish garden, inspired by the historic Alhambra and its renowned Moorish style. It's hard to believe this is in the heart of West London and not in Spain! Zahra Beige Paving enhances these sun-kissed tones, adding warmth, cohesion, and a timeless Mediterranean elegance to the space.
In contrast, the English garden offers a tranquil, naturalistic setting and features a pond and a stream. It is home to mature trees, originally planted over sixty years ago, when the rooftop gardens first opened. Here, Zahra Beige creates harmony between water, greenery, and architecture, contributing to an inviting, sophisticated space.
